Roasted Tri-Tip Recipe

This is a very simple and easy way to showcase the beautiful flavor of your New York Butcher Shoppe Tri-Tip Roast! No grill or smoker required.
1 Tbs. olive oil
3/4 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
1 ea. 2-2.5 lb. Certified Angus Beef Tri-Tip roast
Add your favorite BBQ or Steak Sauce (optional)
Combine olive oil and spices in a small dish, and rub the roast with the mixture on both sides. Allow it to rest in your kitchen until it comes up to room temperature, about an hour. (**NYBS Tip: wrap or cover rubbed roast and place in refrigerator overnight or up to 24 hours to allow the seasoning to meld with the meat. Rest at room temperature in kitchen for one hour before cooking.)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Line baking sheet or oven roasting pan with aluminum foil; cover with aluminum foil and bake in preheated oven for 60-80 minutes to desired level of doneness.
***Optional: Increase the oven temperature to 450 degrees F. Remove the foil and generously brush the roast with your favorite sauce. Continue to roast for about 15 minutes. (If you don't want sauce on your roast, just remove the foil from the roast and let it sit in the oven for another 15 minutes at 450 degrees F.)
Remove the roast from the oven and re-cover with the aluminum foil. Let the meat rest for 10 minutes outside of the oven.
Place the tri-tip on a cutting board and slice 1/4 inch slices diagonally across the grain. Serve with your favorite sauce on the side, as desired.
